La irrupción mundial generada por la pandemia (el COVID-19) ha trastocado innumerables aspectos de la sociedad. En Colombia, se vio gravemente afectado el sector educativo. Las instituciones educativas tuvieron que adaptarse rápidamente a la educación a distancia, utilizando las Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicación (TIC) como herramienta clave, especialmente en la educación inicial. Este artículo examina las experiencias de los docentes al incorporar las TIC en este nivel educativo durante la pandemia. La transición de un entorno educativo presencial a uno virtual ha planteado cuestionamientos importantes en términos de equidad, privacidad, calidad educativa y bienestar de los estudiantes. Al mismo tiempo, ha abierto la puerta a nuevas formas de enseñanza y aprendizaje que merecen ser exploradas y aprovechadas al máximo.
