A lo largo de la historia de las matemáticas hemos apreciado la existencia de diversas y maravillosas conexiones entre diferentes áreas, resultando en el interés por estudiar temas que involucren ideas de distintas ramas de las matemáticas. Tal es el caso de la combinatoria polihédrica. Uno de los resultados más importantes en este campo es el Teorema de la Cota Superior. Con la demostración de este teorema se descubrió una maravillosa conexión entre la geometría y la combinatoria de los politopos. El propósito de este texto es introducir algunas deniciones e ideas desarrolladas en la prueba del Teorema de la Cota Superior. El protagonista de nuestro breve texto será el h-vector.
