Two validated instruments were used to collect the information that was evaluated with correlation tests and factor analysis. The results show that there is a strong correlation between decision-making, verbal communication, goal management, and conflict management, demonstrating the importance of dialogue and mediation to manage the project. Oral, verbal, and interpersonal communication was recognized as a highly developed and important competence to achieve goals. The variables were grouped into 3 components that explained the students' perception of teamwork. The teamwork competition was developed through strategy and the students recognized its importance. |

Se presentan los resultados del estudio realizado con 85 estudiantes de química de primera matrícula en la Universidad de La Sabana, en el que se buscaba identificar la percepción de los estudiantes respecto al desarrollo de la competencia trabajo en equipo a partir del Aprendizaje Basado en Retos. Se utilizaron dos instrumentos validados para recolectar la información que fue evaluada con pruebas de correlación y análisis factorial. Los resultados evidencian que existe una correlación fuerte entre la toma de decisiones, comunicación verbal, gestión de objetivos y tratamiento de conflictos, demostrando la importancia del diálogo y mediación para gestionar el proyecto. La comunicación oral, verbal e interpersonal fue reconocida como una competencia altamente desarrollada e importante para cumplir las metas. Las variables fueron agrupadas en 3 componentes que explicaron la percepción de los estudiantes respecto al trabajo en equipo. La competencia de trabajo en equipo se desarrolló por medio de la estrategia y los estudiantes reconocieron su importancia.
