A search was carried out in the databases: PubMed Central, PubMed, ScienceDirect, Scielo, BVS. Research and review articles were included, published in English, Spanish and Portuguese, without time restrictions. Study without risk. Copyright is respected. Results: 33 articles were analyzed where both the practical application of spiritual care and the skills required to provide it were found. Conclusions: Spirituality is important to find meaning in suffering and a way to integrate it into health environments is through the practice of spiritual care and the development of professional and human skills for its application. |

Otro El cuidado espiritual es un aspecto fundamental dentro de las competencias de los profesionales para atender las necesidades espirituales de los pacientes. Es importante si se quiere brindar atención de calidad, compasiva y empática a estos y sus familiares, con el objetivo de mejorar su bienestar espiritual, disminuir su sufrimiento, mejorar su calidad de vida y ayudarlos a darle sentido a su enfermedad. Objetivo: Analizar la literatura científica sobre la práctica del cuidado espiritual en los entornos clínicos de salud. Metodología: Revisión de alcance de la literatura científica. Se realizó búsqueda en las bases de datos: PubMed Central, PubMed, ScienceDirect, Scielo, BVS. Se incluyeron artículos de investigación y de revisión, publicados en inglés, español y portugués, sin restricción de tiempo. Estudio sin riesgo. Se respetan los derechos de autor. Resultados: Se analizaron 33 artículos donde se encontró tanto sobre la aplicación práctica del cuidado espiritual como las competencias requeridas para prestarlo.
