description	El Camino de las Papas, also known as Camino Nacional or El Letrero, is an ancestral route wich comunicate the distrcts of Quinchana, San Agustín - Huila and Valecia, San Sebastián – Cauca that has a high historical, cultural and environmental value that has allowed the transport and exchange of various foods, fabrics, minerals, clothing, livestock and traditions through the Macizo Colombiano since the 16th century; however, its importance at national level has gradually diminished due to the deterioration it has experienced thanks to deficient management by the State. It is for thisreason that, considering its recent declaration as Heritage and Asset of Cultural Interest of the Department of Huila, we think about the opportunity to generate a regulation or norm that allows the proper conservation of El Camino de Las Papas, its environment, historical and sociocultural memory through a PES. The project begins with the execution of an integrated approach diagnosis, where quantitative information is gathered through cartographic information tools, and qualitative Information through field work; Subsequently, the analysis of static and dynamic factors identified in the study area is developed, defining a scheme of possible interventions that allow projecting the planning and organization strategies in the rural territory to safeguard the route and the environmental, archaeological, sociocultural and historical factors that it has, framing the project in an urban-regulatory intervention on a cultural heritage.

El Camino de las Papas, también conocido como Camino Nacional o El Letrero, es una ruta ancestral que comunica las veredas Quinchana, San Agustín - Huila y Valencia, San Sebastián – Cauca, la cual cuenta con un alto valor histórico, cultural y ambiental que ha permitido el transporte e intercambio de diversos alimentos, telas, minerales, prendas de vestir, ganado y tradiciones a través del Macizo Colombiano desde el Siglo XVI; sin embargo, su importancia a nivel nacional ha disminuido paulatinamente debido al deterioro que ha experimentado por la gestión deficiente del Estado. Es por lo anterior que, considerando su reciente declaratoria como Patrimonio y Bien de Interés Cultural (BIC) del Departamento del Huila, se reconoce la oportunidad de generar una reglamentación o norma que permita conservar apropiadamente El Camino de Las Papas, su entorno ambiental, su memoria histórica y sociocultural a través de un PES. El proyecto inicia con la ejecución de un diagnóstico de enfoque integrado, donde se reúne información cuantitativa a través de herramientas de información cartográfica, e información cualitativa a través de la realización del trabajo de campo; posteriormente, se desarrolla el análisis de factores estáticos y dinámicos identificados en el área de estudio, definiendo un esquema de posibles intervenciones que permiten proyectar estrategias de planificación y organización en el territorio rural para salvaguardar la ruta y los factores ambientales, arqueológicos, socioculturales e históricos que esta comprende, enmarcando el proyecto en una intervención urbano-normativa sobre un patrimonio cultural.
