Summary: | This research, whose general objective was to know the emotional effects and coping strategies used in people who were victims of sexual violence in childhood, was developed as a descriptive research, where detailed data on the experiences of sexual abuse in 2 participants were collected. Residents in the municipalities of Cartago Valle and Toro Valle del Cauca, their emotions, thoughts and responses to child sexual abuse. The approach of this research is qualitative to interpret the narratives and ways of life of the participants after being sexually abused in childhood, through the phenomenological approach that seeks to know their experiences in the face of this traumatic event in their lives. . . In order to obtain a complete understanding of the emotional effects and coping strategies related to childhood sexual abuse. Giving as more relevant results than the emotional effects present were: fear, invisible loyalty, threat of a fraternal relationship, hatred towards the parental subsystem (mother), shyness, scarce resources to face emotions (anger), isolation, resistance, depression, suicidal ideation, loneliness, sadness, demonstrating that these emotional effects, being intense and habitual, negatively influenced most of their decisions and areas of development, thus becoming risk factors in the appearance of other mental illnesses. |
