La enfermedad periodontal (EP) afecta los tejidos de soporte del diente y es la segunda enfermedad más prevalente de cavidad oral, después de la caries dental. Sin embargo, al ser una enfermedad de naturaleza multifactorial su control resulta ser un reto. La introducción de las herramientas de Inteligencia artificial (IA) en el mundo, han desarrollado modelos para diagnóstico e incluso tratamientos individualizados para la enfermedad gingival y periodontal.
