Este trabajo está dentro de la línea de promoción y prevención de la salud oral de la especialización en ortodoncia de la Facultad de Odontología de la Universidad Antonio Nariño. Una serie de estudios analizados han demostrado resultados favorecedores para la Terapia Miofuncional (TMF), tenerla en cuenta como un tratamiento que puede realizarse en combinación con Ortopedia maxilar y Ortodoncia en la modificación de maloclusiones, hábitos orales, alteraciones respiratorias, en la fisiología normal de la deglución y respiración de tal manera que al estabilizar estos desequilibrios funcionales se logre también una corrección en la postura corporal y huella plantar por la relación que muestran (Bandyopadhyay et al., 2020).
