La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo proponer un sistema de inventario en la farmacia Famisalud en la cuidad de Santa Marta. En primer lugar se realizo un estudio del sistema de inventario actual donde nos describe todo el proceso que se realiza desde el momento que se detecta un faltante hasta su punto final que es la venta al cliente, posteriormente se realizo un diagrama de procesos del inventario actual junto con un comportamiento de ventas mensual promediando los últimos meses. Dentro de los resultados se puede evidenciar los altos costo que deja para la farmacia la implementación de un sistema de inventario, los inventarios son realizados empíricamente anotados en un cuaderno dejando al descubierto fallas en los pedidos ya que al no contar con un software especializado se procede a la inexactitud de la información para losprocesos, es por ello la importancia de una buena clasificación dentro del inventario para elmejoramiento de sus procesos. Finalmente se determinan unas políticas de inventario para la farmacia, se realiza una clasificación ABC a los productos existentes en el inventario identificando la importancia de los productos comercializados y se propone un sistema EOQ para la maximización de la utilidad por medio de la reducción de costos.
