La frecuencia de presentación de convulsiones en caninos fluctúa desde 0,5% a 5,7% de las consultas en la clínica pequeños animales, donde el 80% son causados principalmente por la epilepsia idiopática (Goiz, 2008) lo cual ha sido de interés, y objeto de estudio como se registra en la literatura (Thomas, 2010) (Ekenstedt, 2013), debido al aumento de consultas por este motivo.
