Summary: | The Californian red worm (Eisenia foetida) is a good source of nutrients, including proteins, fiber, fats,
vitamins and minerals, because aquaculture is an activity that is constantly growing and innovating. This
research seeks to generate an alternative source of food taking advantage of the nutrients present in the
red worm, which meets the nutritional needs for the development of red tilapia (Oreochromis spp).
Three levels of inclusion were evaluated, each group with 30 units of fingerlings, a control diet (T1)
without hydrolyzate, (T2) 10% and (T3) 20% inclusion of hydrolyzate. For this, bromatological analysis
and growth parameters and nutritional use were determined in red Tilapia (Oreochromis spp) fed with
the treatments. The evaluations were carried out in aquariums, under a completely randomized design,
with three replicates per treatment, each replicated with 10 fish. The growth and utilization parameters
presented significant differences (p<0.05), observing that (T2) with 10% inclusion gave a better result of
size, weight and growth behavior compared to T1 and T3. The study presented high protein levels,
digestible energy, phosphorus, calcium and fat. Californian red worm hydrolyzate is an alternative of
high nutritional quality that can be used in diets for fish at inclusion levels (10 and 20%), which allows
obtaining greater weight in product, and in turn generates good margins of economic profitability. for
the small and medium producer of tilapia. |
