It was decided to work in Melgar and not in another municipality, seeking to demostrate how, from urban design, it is important to carry out interventions that seel to articulate all these sectors that are in that condition of segregation, followed by the configuration of an urban fabric that provides conditions for both spatial and environmental quality El tema principal del trabajo de grado se centró en un Malecón Ecoturístico Comercial para el municipio de Melgar - Tolima, como solución al problema de una desarticulacion espacial y ambiental, una proliferacion de asentamientos ilegales sobre el Rio Sumapaz y la segregacion de usos sobre el perimetro urbano. Se decide trabajar en Melgar y no en otro municipio, buscando evidenciar como desde el diseño urbano es importante realizar intervenciones que procuren articular todos estos sectores que se encuentran en esa condicion de segregacion, seguido de la configuracion de una trama urbana que brinde condiciones tanto de calidad espacial como ambiental.
