According to the investigation carried out, the population consisted of 30 bovines
distributed in 3 farms, choosing randomly 10 animals in each one. The visits were made on
july, october and december of 2022. First of all, it determine the presence of Rhipicephalus
sp, with 100% of the total samples. As a result, referring the degree of infestation in cattle;
on farm 2, a high infestation was evidenced with 51.3%, with which it becomes pertinent
to implement an adecuate management to avoid the proliferation of these ectoparasites. It
was also recorded that for the rainy season (October-December) the frequency of ticks was
higher, and the relative humidity and temperature had a significantly high positive linear
relationship, which reflects the increase in the tick population on the farms. |

El trabajo se desarrolló en tres fincas ubicadas en el municipio de Cajibío, departamento del Cauca en los meses de julio, octubre y diciembre del año 2022. En estas se tomaron muestras de garrapatas en el ganado bovino, teniendo en cuenta la temporada seca y lluviosa para ver el grado de infestación y frecuencia de garrapatas respecto de la humedad, precipitación y temperatura y verificar su incidencia o disminución en las reses muestreadas. Para el análisis de las muestras se hizo uso de estereoscopio con la colaboración de un especialista para la identificación de las diferentes especies de garrapatas que infestan al ganado de la zona, además conocer el grado de infestación y la distribución de acuerdo a la temperatura, humedad y precipitación de la zona. De acuerdo con la investigación realizada la población estuvo constituida por 30 bovinos distribuidos en 3 fincas, seleccionando al azar 10 animales en cada una. Las visitas se realizaron durante los meses de julio, octubre y diciembre del 2022. Primeramente, se encontró la presencia de la especie Rhipicephalus sp en un 100% del total de las muestras. Como resultado, referente al grado de infestación en el ganado; en la finca 2 se evidenció una alta infestación con un 51,3%, con lo que se hace pertinente implementar un manejo adecuado con el ganado para evitar la proliferación de estos ectoparásitos.
