El presente trabajo de grado se lleva a cabo en el departamento de la Guajira (Colombia), el cual pretende reconocer la comunidad Wayuu como una población étnica con necesidades habitacionales que surgen a partir de una trascendencia histórica dada desde el siglo XVI; con el acogimiento y entendimiento de la cultura Wayuu se analizan datos generales de la población departamental y la presencia étnica de la misma, identificando las problemáticas que más afectan al territorio definiendo los lugares en donde tienen mayor impacto a partir de la metodología cuantitativa y cualitativa.
