The evolution of daily mobility in two popular peripheries of Bogotá: Soacha and Madrid (1993-2009)", show that the accelerated demographic growth in the city of Bogotá is parallel to the peripheral expansion given by the supply of transport and the increase in popular housing, this increases the possibilities of meeting the basic needs of the population that reaches the peripheral territory of the city. |

Se presentan diferentes estudios relacionados con las implicaciones que conlleva el crecimiento demográfico de la ciudad y su relación en el bienestar y la calidad de vida de los habitantes. Dureau & Gouëset (2011), en una investigación “Formas de poblamiento y desigualdades en los desplazamientos. La evolución de la movilidad cotidiana en dos periferias populares de Bogotá: Soacha y Madrid (1993-2009)”, exponen que el crecimiento demográfico acelerado en la ciudad de Bogotá es paralelo a la expansión periférica dada por la oferta de transporte y el incremento de la vivienda popular, esto aumenta las posibilidades de suplir las necesidades básicas a la población que llega al territorio periférico de la ciudad.
