was applied, using a form of 24 questions based on the risk factors related to erosive dental wear
in adolescents. Results: it was obtained that of the 12 fruits evaluated, 67% of them were
classified as erosive and when a combination of them was made, 29% of the students mixed the
combined fruits and classified them as Erosive with Extremely Erosive; it also became evident
that 35% of the students who consumed these fruits were female. Conclusion: There is a high
risk that the study population may present erosive dental wear with the passage of time due to
poor consumption habits of acidic fruits and drinks, classified as extremely erosive and erosive;
especially the female sex, since it was found that they are the ones who consume and combine
these types of fruits and fruit juices the most. |

Objetivo: establecer el riesgo de erosión dental relacionado con el consumo de frutas y bebidas en un grupo de escolares de 12 a 18 años. Metodología: se realizó un estudio observacional de corte transversal en dos colegios de Bogotá, de los cuales se obtuvo una muestra de 85 participantes, a los que se les aplicó una encuesta previamente aprobada y validada, mediante un formulario de 24 preguntas basadas en los factores de riesgo relacionados con el Desgaste Dental Erosivo en adolescentes. Resultados: se obtuvo que de las 12 frutas evaluadas el 67% de ellas se clasificaban como erosivas y que cuando se realizaba una combinación de ellas, el 29% de los estudiantes mezclaban las frutas combinadas y clasificadas como Erosivas con Extremadamente Erosivas; así mismo se evidenció que el 35% de los estudiantes que consumían estas frutas eran de sexo femenino. Conclusión: Existe un alto riesgo de que la población de estudio, pueda presentar desgaste dental erosivo con el paso del tiempo debido a los malos hábitos de consumo de frutas y bebidas ácidas, catalogadas como extremadamente erosivas y erosivas; en especial el sexo femenino ya que se encontró que son las que más consumen y combinan este tipo de frutas y jugos de fruta.
