El consumismo desmesurado del ser humano por el plástico ha generado grandes impactos ambientales en los territorios, a pesar que estos productos son de gran utilidad para el ser humano y son empleados en cada una de las actividades humanas para el bienestar de sí mismos, dedicando el uso de estos para mejorar la vida humana, pero así como beneficia en su gran mayoría a las personas, a su vez este resulta ser perjudicial no solo para la salud humana sino que también para el medio ambiente, además que la mala disposición de los residuos perjudica a los ecosistemas y a un tema fundamental que es el recurso hídrico. Por esta razón surge este proyecto de investigación el cual busca compilar información bibliográfica utilizando como herramienta Parsifal para compilar diferentes artículos referentes a los impactos ambientales generados por la industria del plástico y cómo esta afecta el recurso hídrico, buscando realizar un artículo de divulgación para que sus lectores tengan una información más completa respecto a esta problemática ambiental y algunas alternativas que existen para minimizar este impacto negativo que recae sobre el medio ambiente.
