from one topic to another, managing to articulate and relate the components and
improve the learning of the students. However, in the integration of the topics of
combinatorics and algebra certain drawbacks arise, beginning that it is a little-studied
field of research, followed by the fact that the ninth-grade students at the western school
gymnasium have difficulties to make combinations in the elements of a set and also
limitations to pose, interpret, address and argue the meaning of the solution of a
mathematical problem. The research proposes a system of activities that have a
pedagogical and didactic structure supported by the theory of problem solving, in
particular in challenging problems, in argumentation and in the use of the themes of
combinatorics and algebra.
The implementation of the activities in the classroom allows: greater understanding of
the students regarding the use of elements shared between combinatorics and algebra,
the development of the ability to solve problems, argue and use numbers and
mathematical relationships, it also stimulates motivation for learning, achieving greater
interest in mathematics. |

Las matemáticas es el conjunto de elementos, proporciones y relaciones que pueden ser utilizados en el análisis o resolución de problemas, en su contenido tiene elementos, que se comparten de un tema a otro, logrando articular y relacionar los componentes y mejorar el aprendizaje de los estudiantes. Sin embargo, en la integración de los temas de la combinatoria y el álgebra surgen ciertos inconvenientes, iniciando que es un campo de investigación poco estudiado, seguido de que los estudiantes de grado noveno del colegio Gimnasio Mayor del Occidente, presentan dificultades para hacer combinaciones en los elementos de un conjunto y también limitaciones para plantear interpretar, abordar y argumentar el sentido de la solución de un problema matemático. En la investigación se propone un sistema de actividades que tienen una estructura pedagógica y didáctica sustentada en la teoría de resolución de problemas, en particular en los problemas retadores, en la argumentación y en el uso de los temas de la combinatoria y el álgebra.
