observation of the different pathologies found in the skin of the canines that made up this study)
was performed on each patient who entered the clinic.
In the methodological process, 25 canes with pruritic dermatitis problems were selected.
Finally, the results were analyzed, having an effectiveness of 56%, highlighting the most
relevant cases, making known alternative medicine with calendula officinalis extract to treat
dermatitis lesions, which is one of the most registered in the veterinary clinic today. today and
thereby implement this type of natural treatment in our patients. |

La dermatitis pruriginosa es una enfermedad crónica de la piel de los perros, que preocupa mucho a los propietarios de las mascotas cuando ya no ven mejoría en ellos. La finalidad de este trabajo fue realizar un tratamiento como coadyuvante para la dermatitis pruriginosa con el extracto de caléndula officinalis, aplicando la fitoterapia en los pacientes, este trabajo se realizó en la Clínica Veterinaria Terranova de la ciudad de Popayán, durante el primer periodo del año 2022. Para lo anterior se tuvo en cuenta que los caninos deben ser adultos de cualquier raza y sexo; así como también se tuvo en cuenta los reportes e investigaciones previas de los síntomas que presentaron los pacientes con la dermatitis; igualmente, se realizó el examen de la piel (observación general, inspección y la observación de las diferentes patologías encontradas en la piel de los caninos que conformaran este estudio) a cada paciente que ingreso a la clínica. En el proceso metodológico se seleccionaron 25 canes con problemas de dermatitis pruriginosa. Finalmente se analizaron los resultados teniendo una efectividad del 56% resaltando los casos más relevantes, dando a conocer la medicina alternativa con extracto de caléndula officinalis para tratar las lesiones de la dermatitis la cual es una de las más registradas en la clínica veterinaria hoy en día y con ello implementar este tipo de tratamiento natural en nuestros pacientes.
