La investigación toma como referencia teórica lo señalado por la Organización Mundial de la Salud y la Organización Panamericana de la Salud, además de investigaciones realizadas durante la pandemia. De igual manera, como guía desde la psicología se tomo como referencia el enfoque sistémico, que corresponde percibir la familia como un todo.
