Summary:The clinical management guidelines have generated great impact since their creation, since they have facilitated clinical practice, in this case access to the information of the New Classification of Periodontal Disease is facilitated. Objective: To prepare a clinical management guide according to the new classification of periodontal disease focused on periodontal health, gingivitis and periodontitis in the clinic of the Antonio Nariño University, located in Cúcuta. Materials and methods: The present study is descriptive. Two surveys were carried out to evaluate the difficulties in identifying the diagnoses of the New Periodontal Classification, one teacher and one student; 2 teachers and 100 students participated with informed consent, a protocol for periodontal diagnosis and a clinical management guide focused on gingival health, gingivitis and periodontitis based on the New Periodontal Classification were developed, using Adobe Photoshop CC 2018 the graphics were made. Through the google meet platform, the guide was socialized with students taking clinical practices at the Antonio Nariño University. Results: According to the surveys carried out, it was analyzed that the students from the fifth to the tenth semester present shortcomings when identifying the diagnoses of the new periodontal classification, a protocol for the periodontal diagnosis and a periodontal clinical management guide were developed and the socialization of said guide. Conclusion: A clinical management guide was developed as a support tool that will improve the difficulties in identifying the diagnoses of the new periodontal classification.
