Rivera Huila is one of the representative municipa lities of local tourism, it is in constant development due to its strategic environmental location and the ancestral wealth which is immersed in rural areas. The village of El Tambillo, located in the municipality of Rivera and belonging to the eastern mou ntain range, has generated an ancestral mystery due to the remains found apparently descendants of the Andaquies and Tamas, tribes that roamed these high areas and that inhabited, at the time, which is currently known as El Tambillo. Said archaeological fi nds, such as work tools, artisanal objects and engraved rocks (petroglyphs), have remained in the hands of the residents and illegal looters, who, without having any knowledge and heritage value, generate alterations on the vestiges, in order to to highlig attention of tourists who currently visit the village frequently.

El departamento del Huila se encuentra en un contexto histórico, donde la variedad cultural y natural han generado un gran impacto en el desarrollo territorial, partiendo desde el turismo de sus municipios que, de una u otra manera, llevan ligado dinámicas ancestrales de nuestros antepasados. Rivera Huila es uno de los municipios representativos del turismo local, se encuentra en un constante desarrollo debido a su ubicación estratégica ambiental y a l a riqueza ancestral la cual está inmersa en las zonas rurales. La vereda el Tambillo, ubicada en el municipio de Rivera y perteneciente a la cordillera oriental, ha generado un misterio ancestral debido a los vestigios hallados al parecer descendientes de los Andaquies y Tamas, tribus que deambulaban estas altas zonas y que habitaron, en su momento, lo que actualmente se conoce como El Tambillo. Dichos hallazgos arqueológicos, tales como herramientas de trabajo, objetos artesanales y rocas grabadas (petroglifos), han quedado en manos de los pobladores y de huaqueros ilegales, quienes, sin tener algún conocimiento y valor patrimonial, generan alteraciones sobre los vestigios, con el fin de resaltar su riqueza y así llamar la atención de turistas que actualmente recorren con frecuencia la vereda.
