performance is measured, the indicators that are the solid basis of the cycle, and identify
opportunities for improvement through results. In the case of Colombia, commercial development
and the evolution of logistics have been growing hand in hand, with the adoption of improvements
to its infrastructure and the application of best logistic practices has taken a modest position, but
important at the global level, it is clear that much remains to be done; however, the analysis of the
information presented makes it possible to identify the strengths and weaknesses that the country
has in relation to other competitors with the discovery of possible fields of action in the area of
international trade in an increasingly globalized and competitive world. |

La logística, que por mucho tiempo se vio relegada a tomarse como simples actividades operativas de transporte y almacenamiento, hoy en día toma gran relevancia, y se ha analizado por la imperiosa necesidad en la evolución de la administración comercial, ha sido estructurado por parte de los académicos de tal modo que en la actualidad se reconoce como uno de los principales ejes de la industria y el comercio. El siguiente análisis llevará al lector a comprender cómo se mide el desempeño logístico de un país, los indicadores que son la base sólida del ciclo e identificar las oportunidades de mejora a través de los resultados. En el caso de Colombia el desarrollo comercial y la evolución de la logística vienen creciendo de la mano, con la adopción de mejoras a su infraestructura y la aplicación de mejores prácticas logísticas ha tomado una posición modesta, pero importante a nivel mundial, es claro que falta mucho por hacer; sin embargo el análisis de la información presentada permite identificar las fortalezas y las debilidades que tiene el país frente a otros competidores con el descubrimiento de posibles campos de acción en materia de comercio internacional en un mundo cada vez más globalizado y competitivo.
