It was found that many of the participants have felt improvements in their self-esteem from physical exercise and healthy eating and that some alterations in their mental health are related to their family ties and interaction with their peers.

Key words: La presente investigación se realizó con el fin conocer cuáles son los estereotipos de belleza y su repercusión en la autoestima de los adolescentes, para ello se aplicaron los instrumentos a cinco (5) jóvenes, entre 16 y 20 años de edad residentes en el municipio de Roldanillo y que realizan ejercicio físico con regularidad, quienes a partir de los cuestionarios de Autoconcepto de Coopersmith, Cuestionario de Imagen corporal y entrevista semiestructurada informaron cómo estaban conformados sus estereotipos de belleza y autoestima tomando como base investigaciones de Hernández Montecino (2016) y Itziar Varela (2020) que abordan la temática de estereotipos e ideales de belleza y Rodríguez (1988) sobre Autoestima tomando los postulados de Abraham Maslow.
