Respaldados en la ciencia, experiencia y la práctica médica, el personal médico general y/o especializado y de la enfermería, mantiene su visión puesta en mejorar y ayudar a superar estas condiciones adversas de la salud humana. Por lo general el paciente o su familiar refieren el motivo o razones por las cuales acuden a los servicios de salud. Un diagnóstico podría revelar los principales hallazgos para el tratamiento a efectuarse y en el que se procure mantener o mejorar niveles en él, se procure el menor daño posible al paciente y a su familia.
