AMD was found to be a progressive degenerative disorder that affects adults over 50 years of age, this disease is divided into two categories wet and dry and is classified into three stages: early, intermediate and late. El presente trabajo tiene como finalidad determinar los lineamientos para la rehabilitación de los pacientes de DMRE y actualizar información sobre que procesos y aspectos son tenidos en cuenta para mejorar la adaptación del paciente con DMRE a su nueva condición y la potencialización de su remanente visual en las actividades cotidianas. Se encontró que la DMRE es un trastorno progresivo degenerativo que afecta a los adultos mayores de 50 años, esta enfermedad se divide en dos categorías húmeda y seca y se clasifica en tres etapas: temprana, intermedia y tardía.
