El municipio de Timaná, al sur del departamento del Huila, presenta un déficit considerable de habitabilidad, particularmente en aspectos cualitativos de las viviendas del área rural, donde se han presentado distintos fenómenos que se tuvieron en cuenta al momento de realizar este trabajo, siendo uno de ellos la fragmentación predial que ha ocasionado una serie de hechos que se reflejan en la vida de los campesinos, implicando temas económicos y de productividad que impiden, a los núcleos familiares, proyectar mejoras en sus viviendas.
