Description
Summary:This degree work presents an intervention based on five geometric dimensions (visual, constructed, drawn, measured and playful), to develop the concepts of perimeter and area in polygons through meaningful learning to ensure that students appropriate contextualized form of these concepts. An intervention was carried out through a didactic sequence that contains seven guides, a diagnostic evaluation, a summative and five formative ones oriented by movie characters, each one proposes different concrete materials and a different story, where the student by means of manipulation and Motivation strengthens the concept of perimeter and area. The implementation of the material took place at the Colegio Nuestra Señora de la Paz, with sixteen third-grade primary school students, eight of them were in remote mode and eight in person, during twelve sessions, each one hour and a half, which They were systematized in a format constructed by the author of the work and the results were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. It is concluded that the use of the five dimensions contributes to the development of geometric and spatial thought by allowing geometry to be experiential and experimental.
