It also studies the relationship between art and the city, in view of the fact that artists cast in their works their own vision of the urban, disclosing through them their individual metropolis, meaning, the one they perceive and interpret, becoming the spokesperson of the mass of anonymous inhabitants. The article concludes, amid several things, that art functions as an indicator to truly understand the city as a whole, as long as those who plan it decide to take such knowledge into account. |

El artículo aborda el tema de la percepción, el significado y la interpretación de la ciudad, por parte de sus habitantes. Se destaca la importancia del lugar, del espacio público y el entorno urbano en el imaginario y la identidad de quienes la habitan o transitan; dado que cada individuo, de acuerdo a las relaciones que establece con la urbe, la resignifica, la lee, la interpreta, la comprende. Se alude a la microhistoria, pues sus postulados plantean la importancia y la validez del estudio de los pequeños acontecimientos que se desarrollan en las calles de las ciudades, y recalcan la importancia de esa lectura minuciosa del acontecer y la vida urbana para la comprensión profunda de la ciudad. Se analiza la relación arte-ciudad, puesto que los artistas proyectan en las obras de arte su propia visión de la ciudad, develando a través de ellas, su urbe individual, la que perciben, la que interpretan, y por ende, se constituyen en los voceros de una masa de habitantes anónimos.
