description The article studies neotropical migratory species watched on Bogota’s parks and gardens, providing the routes preferred by birds nesting in North America that use the city as temporary or transient place during their voyage. By means of two different reports (Borrero, 1945; Echeverry, 2005) it is made clear that the number of individuals has increased in urban areas and, as a result, the ecological, urban and rural conditions that provoked this enhancement are considered. As a conclusion, the article suggests that migratory and resident birds’ conservation require an urban tree planting plan to feed those species at once and, if possible, the construction of artificial lakes to provide them with enough space for lodging.

2021-11-10T01:00:02Z 2021-11-10T01:00:02Z 2012-05-14 Artículo revisado por pares info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_2df8fbb1 info:eu-repo/semantics/article http://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85 http://revistas.uan.edu.co/index.php/nodo/article/view/70 http://repositorio.uan.edu.co/handle/123456789/5552 spa http://revistas.uan.edu.co/index.php/nodo/article/view/70/54 Acceso abierto Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/ info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2 application/pdf Universidad Antonio Nariño 2346-092X 1909-3888 REVISTA NODO; Vol. 6 Núm. 12 (2012); 67 - 82
