En este trabajo investigativo se tiene en cuenta una problemática ambiental causada por la minería que ha tenido un proceso de explotación por décadas en el municipio de Yumbo, donde también se evidencia el problema por el lado industrial, porque encontramos esta gran zona a la entrada del sur del municipio; lugar donde este tipo de comercialización por la minería ha sido una de las principales fuentes de economía para las familias oriundas de Yumbo. Esta problemática ambiental ha causado daños am bientales irreversibles en esta zona y hasta el momento se presentan grandes enfermedades en sus habitantes que trabajan en este sector y también por el ambiente que las fábricas generan. De acuerdo a lo antes dicho se plantean objetivos que darán respuesta o al menos permitirán dar un mejor manejo a lo que sucede allí; las personas con menos recurso económicos los empuja a seguir explotando este elemento por un pago estándar demasiado bajo y a la constante exposición de estos gases de tal modo, qué ha causando un daño cada día más grande en el ámbito de la salud.
