Las patologías como la periodontitis en adultos representan una enfermedad de alta incidencia, la cual genera inflamación, sangrado en la encía y posteriormente la pérdida del hueso en los dientes. Por tal razón, se plantea el tratamiento a partir de probióticos suministrados en Lactobacillus en pastillas. Buscando generar una resistencia bacteriana, capaz de reducir la inflamación y el sangrado gingival.
