description Protein fibrillation is a process in which the peptide chains are slightly modified form native structure to yield fibers. The mechanism that leads to this fiber conformations is little known. An accepted hypothesis is the “entropic cone”, according to this hypothesis a pre-unfolded structure plays a crucial role in the fiber growth. Fibrillation can offer certain advantages, since the new structure offers technological possibilities. On the other hand, when the process occurs inside tissues could be responsible to generate a series of illness known as “amyloidosis”. At the University Antonio Nariño a family of macrocyclic molecules, the resorcinarenes, is been studied. Preliminary results indicate that thismacrocycles are able to inhibit the fibrillation of certain proteins.

2021-06-16T13:59:56Z 2021-06-16T13:59:56Z 2020-03-20 Divulgación científica info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_2df8fbb1 info:eu-repo/semantics/article http://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85 http://revistas.uan.edu.co/index.php/saywa/article/view/674 http://repositorio.uan.edu.co/handle/123456789/4438 spa http://revistas.uan.edu.co/index.php/saywa/article/view/674/574 Acceso abierto Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/ info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2 application/pdf Universidad Antonio Nariño 2711-1571 REVISTA SAYWA; Vol. 1 Núm. 1 (2019)
