Summary: | The present work evaluated the tetracycline residues in the milk coming from the dual purpose production systems of 40 farms of the San Andrés de Sotavento Indigenous Reservation in the departments of Córdoba and Sucre (Colombia), using the CHARM II methodology, comparing the results obtained with those identified in different countries. Four samples of 100ml each were taken, and a survey was also carried out on the use of antibiotics, specifically tetracyclines. Of the total samples analyzed, 67.5% were negative for the Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) established by the Codex Committee on Residues of Veterinary Drugs in Foods (CCRVDF) and the remaining 32.5% were positive for tetracycline residues. By comparing the positive results of the analysis of the samples with the three groups of pathologies identified in the survey conducted, it was found that 69.2% of the tetracycline residue positives used it against Bovine Anaplasmosis, while 46.15% used it to treat mastitis and other infections, becoming the second group of diseases associated with the presence of tetracycline residues in milk from the reservation. |
