Sumario: | Given the change in operational conditions of crude oil in Colombia (tending to have higher viscosity), the mechanical systems require technology updates to respond to the technical challenges that arise in pumping facilities. The maintenance area represents a very important role in the continuity of the operation and therefore has developed predictive or condition-based monitoring techniques that allow the implementation and evaluation of quality parameters to define the correct operation of rotary systems.
This project verified the dynamic condition of the rotating equipment before and after the change of the sealing system that satisfies the new operating conditions of the pumped oil. The validation of the quality controls was carried out by monitoring two parameters. The first was the slight displacement or slight vibration of the pumping equipment. And the second was the temperature of the sealing system. The designated techniques used for monitoring were augmented reality of motion and thermography.
After the update and set up of the sealing system according to API 682 4th edition (American Petroleum Institute) and performed the monitoring operation the dynamic condition of the pumping system did not changed and heat transfer was optimized. |
