The San Francisco de Asís hospital is the only second-level hospital that the department of Chocó
currently has, which has become an emporium of corruption for the leaders, since they have seen
in this a way to pay political favors, thus diverting health resources for other types of activities,
which not only puts the health system of the Chocoano population at risk, but also violates the
right to health.
Due to that, the pertinent part of this investigative article which ultimately seeks to know the
situation or crisis that this health entity has been facing for years and at the same time to know the
different actions carried out by the government and control entities in order to solve said crisis and
achieve its financial viability and economic sustainability. |

La nueva ESE departamental San Francisco de Asís, se encuentra ubicada en el municipio de Quibdó, departamento del Chocó, el cual durante años ha venido inmersa en un crisis, situación que desde el año 2007 lo ha llevado a que el gobierno nacional allá realizado 18 intervenciones, las cuales siempre han apuntado a la sanear su estado actual, pero ninguna ha llegado a un fin satisfactorio. El hospital San Francisco de Asís es el único hospital de segundo nivel que cuenta el departamento del Chocó en la actualidad, el cual se ha convertido en un emporio de la corrupción para los mandatarios, pues han visto en este un forma de pagar favores políticos, desviando así los recursos de la salud para otro tipo de actividades, lo cual lo pone no solo en peligro el sistema de salud de la población chocoana sino que también vulnera el derecho a la salud. Debido a eso lo pertinente del presente artículo investigativo el cual busca en últimas instancia conocer la situación o crisis que durante años ha venido enfrentando esta entidad de salud y a la vez conocer las diferentes acciones realizadas por el gobierno y entes de control en aras de solucionar dicha crisis y lograr su viabilidad financiera y sostenibilidad económica.
