Summary: | The main objective of this research was to analyze the perceptions of the teachers of the
Ethnoeducational Institution #9 Mañature regarding the causes of school dropout. To fulfill this
objective, the following specific objectives were proposed: to describe the educational and
family factors that influence school dropout, to identify the geographic and socioeconomic,
individual and interpersonal factors that have a direct influence on the attendance, permanence,
motivation and continuity of the students. It was carried out through a qualitative methodology,
with a descriptive type of study and an interpretative method. The population in which the
research was carried out was the teachers of the Ethnoeducational Institution #9 Mañature, being
a sample of 5 teachers. Interviews were applied to each teacher and the analysis process was
done by means of codification and qualitative patterns considering categories of analysis. The
results considered the teachers' perception of the geographic, socioeconomic, individual and
interpersonal factors that affect the attendance and permanence of students at the school. |
