Summary:	The incidence of mass removals in Jesús María, Santander, has increased due to soil saturation due to intense rains, affecting properties, production systems and road infrastructure. With the objective of implementing a bioengineering project on the La Angostura farm and nearby areas, a state of the art on the use of guadua for soil stability is carried out. History of mass removals in Jesús María, Santander and Colombia is compiled, and the historical use of guadua in construction is explored.
