description	Financial culture and its influence on debt is a very common problem, especially in the region in which we are located, which is Latin America. However, in this work we will focus on the Andrea Carolina urbanization, located in the south of the city of Santa Marta in the department of Magdalena, also located in Colombia. It will be explained how financial education, a very important and influential factor can be when it comes to debt levels in the Andrea Carolina urbanization, recognizing the main problems, their probable causes and solutions to these problems. The methodology used in this research was diverse. The field of research was the Andrea Carolina urbanization to observe the average behavior of the finances of each household, how much difference there is between these behaviors, covering their expenses, income and obligations and how frequent they are. All this since well-founded bases in financial education can be synonymous with good management and state of the finances of a household economy.

La cultura financiera y su influencia en el endeudamiento es una problemática muy común, sobre todo en la región en la que nos encontramos, que es Latinoamérica, sin embargo, en este trabajo nos enfocaremos en la urbanización Andrea Carolina, ubicada en el sur de la ciudad de Santa Marta en el departamento del Magdalena a su vez ubicado en Colombia. Se explicará como la educación financiera puede ser un factor muy importante e influyente cuando de niveles de endeudamiento se trata en la urbanización Andrea Carolina, reconociendo los problemas principales, sus causas probables y soluciones a estos problemas. La metodología usada en esta investigación fue diversa, el campo de investigación fue la urbanización Andrea Carolina para observar el comportamiento en promedio de las finanzas de cada hogar, que tanta diferencia entre esos comportamientos hay, abarcando sus gastos, ingresos y obligaciones y que tan frecuente son. Todo esto partiendo de la base de que bases bien cimentadas en la educación financiera pueden ser sinónimo de un buen manejo y estado de las finanzas de una economía del hogar.
