Summary: | Natural disasters such as large earthquakes can cause avalanches, fires and damage
to building infrastructure, which is why there is a high probability that people may be
trapped under the rubble or debris generated. One of the consequences is that due to
structural damage, communication antennas are affected and, therefore, when mobile
networks are disabled, it is important to have tools that work without this type of connection,
mitigating the difficulties that rescuers have in finding affected people. For this reason, the
Faculty of Systems Engineering at the Antonio Nariño University is advancing a research
project for the development of a mobile messaging application called Conecta2, which can
be used in emergency or post-disaster situations, through the use of an ad hoc network to
allow the exchange of messages |
