Description
Summary:With this project, a graphical user interface (GUI) has been developed in Matlab for the calculations and design of helical springs subjected to compression stress. This interface allows for a more efficient evaluation and selection of a spring, as it enables the identification of the spring that best fits and is viable for optimal performance based on the load and workspace, considering requirements such as costs and the availability of current suppliers in the city of Neiva, Huila. As a solution, an experimental methodology with both quantitative and qualitative approaches has been used to design a graphical user interface that integrates design tools for spring adaptation, including material selection, geometry optimization, and performance under different load conditions. The proposed interface significantly improved the efficiency and accuracy of spring design, providing a more accessible and cost-effective alternative to existing methods. To achieve this objective, a literature review on spring design was conducted, the graphical user interface was developed in Matlab, and the interface was evaluated through usability tests and performance analysis.
