| Summary: | Abstract: The internship carried out at the Urban and Rural Development Company of
Dosquebradas (EDOS) aimed primarily to enhance the construction project cost management
process by integrating advanced technologies and continuous staff training. Through a descriptive
methodology with a mixed approach, which included interviews, the internal dynamics of cost
management were explored and significant improvement opportunities were identified. The results
highlighted the importance of experience and technical knowledge in cost optimization.
Additionally, the need for specialized training in cost management and unit price analysis (UPA)
was recognized to maintain EDOS's competitiveness. Challenges such as the standardization of
processes and the updating of databases were faced, proposing the creation of a proprietary data
bank. This study concludes that effective cost management, supported by technological tools and
solid staff training, is essential for the success and sustainability of projects at EDOS, providing
valuable insights for future research and practical applications in construction project cost
management. |
