description | One of the greatest challenges in cancer treatment has been chemoresistance and its relationship with
metastasis processes. For this reason, the World Health Organization suggests exploring traditional
medicines based on the ancestral use of poisons and toxins. Venoms from the Viperidae family are
composed of proteins, enzymes, and peptides with notable antitumor properties, especially relevant
in the epidemiological context of Colombia, as they account for 85% of snakebite incidents in the
country. |

Venoms from the Viperidae family are composed of proteins, enzymes, and peptides with notable antitumor properties, especially relevant in the epidemiological context of Colombia, as they account for 85% of snakebite incidents in the country.
