Summary: | It is necessary to establish that in dental practice procedures are developed that
require asepsis and good management so that there will be no contamination of the work
environment, this due to the presence of microorganisms in the materials used in clinical
care and that become a risk factor for the transmission of pathogens, generating cross
infections, being the highest risk of infection for those who work in this field (Sánchez
Vílchez L, 2019).
Therefore, the risk of infections must be determined for both patients and dental
students, who are present in clinical practice, for this it is necessary to take infection control
procedures into account, with the main purpose of avoid cross-contamination that could
trigger different infectious processes, due to diseases that are transmitted directly or
indirectly through blood or saliva, which can also be transmitted through drops, aerosols,
contaminated instruments and equipment (Matsuyama M, 1997) |
