It has been decided to manage high demand and high variability products, such as those classified as AZ, through a continuous inventory review system. For the other products, a periodic inventory review system will be used, since their demand does not vary so much. In addition, an ordering cost of $1000 and a maintenance cost of $1 per year were established, considering that with an ordering cost of $1 the units to be shipped were very limited.

El trabajo tuvo como objetivo diseñar un sistema de control de inventarios para el supermercado Surticarnes Express, se utilizó la técnica del Diagrama de Pareto para organizar los productos en categorías ABC en función de su contribución al total de ventas. Los productos de categoría A representan aproximadamente el 80% de las ventas totales, los de categoría B alrededor del 15%, y los de categoría C cerca del 5%. Luego, se combinaron estas clasificaciones con las de XYZ para obtener una clasificación ABC-XYZ, lo que brinda una visión más completa del comportamiento de los productos en términos de ventas y estabilidad en la demanda. Se ha decidido manejar los productos de alta demanda y alta variabilidad, como los clasificados como AZ, mediante un sistema de revisión de inventarios continuo. Para los demás productos, se empleará un sistema de revisión de inventarios periódico, ya que su demanda no varía tanto. Además, se estableció un costo de ordenar de $1000 y un costo de mantenimiento de $1 por año, considerando que con un costo de ordenar de $1 las unidades a enviar eran muy limitadas.
