En la presente investigación se describen las representaciones sociales de cinco adultos mayores frente a su institucionalización en el geriátrico san Pedro Claver. Para realizar la investigación se tuvo en cuenta los testimonios de los adultos mayores, configuradas frente a dicha institucionalización y fueron recopilados mediante la técnica de entrevista semiestructurada. Además se establecieron como categorías de análisis las creencias, las imágenes y las actitudes de estos adultos mayores.
