Este proyecto de investigación se centra en la descripción de los aspectos motivacionales en 21 catequistas voluntarios de dos parroquias: Nuestra señora del Ave María y Santa María de Nazareth. Se realizó una revisión de investigaciones realizadas anteriormente respecto a la motivación de los sujetos que realizan voluntariado en el contexto colombiano y se encontraron estudios de diferentes carreras profesionales pero poca participación de la psicología, por esta razón se expuso durante este escrito los estudios más relevantes que fueron fundamentales en el momento del análisis de resultados realizados después de aplicar el instrumento llamado Inventario de Funciones del Voluntariado que indica las dimensiones en las cuales los participantes generan una motivación mayor a la hora de realizar voluntariado.
