Summary:The present study aims to describe the narratives of older adult teachers about the teaching styles that motivate the learning process of mathematics. It was attended by two women and two men; based on the above, the analysis of four categories was established by means of qualitative matrices, two of them emerging, which respond to the objectives proposed at the beginning of the investigation. The information was collected through unstructured interviews, which allowed to identify in the stories the motivations, satisfactions and significant experiences that led to the self-realization and integrity achieved by the participating teachers, taking into account the ecological model proposed by Bronfenbrenner
