Este artículo presenta la reflexión de un docente de pregrado en música en torno de la legitimidad de los productos del quehacer artístico de los docentes como producción académica. La exposición se organiza en relación con cuatro puntos de observación: 1. Producción estética –misión de la universidad 2. Dimensiones en que incide la experiencia del arte 3. Los discursos en torno de lo que es arte 4. Relaciones de conocimiento en y a cerca de la experiencia del arte.
