description The article studies neotropical migratory species watched on Bogota’s parks and gardens, providing the routes preferred by birds nesting in North America that use the city as temporary or transient place during their voyage. By means of two different reports (Borrero, 1945; Echeverry, 2005) it is made clear that the number of individuals has increased in urban areas and, as a result, the ecological, urban and rural conditions that provoked this enhancement are considered. As a conclusion, the article suggests that migratory and resident birds’ conservation require an urban tree planting plan to feed those species at once and, if possible, the construction of artificial lakes to provide them with enough space for lodging.

2012-05-14 2024-10-10T02:29:11Z 2024-10-10T02:29:11Z info:eu-repo/semantics/article info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion Artículo revisado por pares http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501 http://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85 https://revistas.uan.edu.co/index.php/nodo/article/view/70 https://repositorio.uan.edu.co/handle/123456789/10540 spa https://revistas.uan.edu.co/index.php/nodo/article/view/70/54 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2 application/pdf UNIVERSIDAD ANTONIO NARIÑO REVISTA NODO; Vol. 6 Núm. 12 (2012); 67 - 82 2346-092X 1909-3888
